You may have received a card in this week's NewsShopper inviting you to the Mottingham Plant Fair and Open Day to be held at Hadlow College on Saturday 27th April from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
The card has been reproduced below and mentions that if you bring the card on the day you will receive a free packet of seeds. I'm not sure they will do that if you print out the first picture but it might be worth trying.

What do residents like about living in the Links Estate
At the last meeting of the LERA committee we discussed how the residents' association could improve what it offers its members. We thought we could start by asking you what you like about living on the estate.
Someone who has recently had to move away from the estate sent us the following message :-
Someone who has recently had to move away from the estate sent us the following message :-
A few years ago we decided to sell our one-bedroom flat in
another part of London and move into a property big enough so we could start a
family. We liked Bromley as our friends lived there and also we got more for
our money in this area. It was an easy commute for my husband to the City, and
Grove Park has fast and frequent links into Central London. Bromley has very
good schools and a small parade of shops nearby as well as a library and park.
We bought a house in Treewall Gardens and loved it immediately even though it
required some modernisation and a good lick of paint. We were welcomed into the
lovely, quiet cul-de-sac with Christmas cards from some residents, invites to a
bonfire party down the road and drinks and nibbles from our wonderful next-door
neighbour.
Everyone was always very friendly and considerate. I
remember once a resident knocked on our door to let us know we had accidentally
left our car lights on. I also became friendly with the lady a few doors down
who had also just had a baby, so it was nice to pop over to see her for a
coffee and a chat. Our time there was a happy one and I really cannot think of
any unpleasant experiences.
Last year, although we enjoyed living on the Links Estate,
we decided to move back up to another part of London to be nearer family who
could help us with childcare. If we could have moved the house and street too,
we would have.
We would like to hear from any of our members who has any similar views about the estate. Please enter your words in the "comment" box below. If the "comment" box is not showing then click on the heading at the top of this message to open it or send us an email by clicking on the little envelope icon next to the words "no comment".
