Door to Door Sellers
Recently Bickley Safer Neighbourhood Team have had reports from residents about door to door sellers asking what can be done about these cold callers.
In a nutshell….nothing. It isn't illegal to call door to door. It becomes illegal if and when force or harassment is used.
Please be mindful of what you can do. Obtain stickers for your doors/windows stating "No cold callers" etc, don’t answer your doors, use door chains if you do or speak through your door/letter box. If you do open your door, don't engage them in conversation, a simple "No thank you" should suffice.
Some have been aggressive and if that is the case please either phone us on our mobile 020 8721 2613 or if we are off duty call "101" and we shall endeavour to catch up with them after you have given us a description of the aggressive sellers and a direction of travel.
