Fake Met Police email scam

Fraudsters are spamming out emails claiming to be from the Metropolitan Police that are designed to trick people into downloading iSpy key logger software on their device.
The emails are being sent from an address called crime@content.met.police.uk, which is not a valid Metropolitan Police email address.

The subject is shown as Crime Prevention Advice and a file called 11212527.zip is also attached to the email.

An example email reads

To the general public:

See attached document to read more about crime prevention advice.

Regards,
Metropolitan Police Service.

Intelligence suggests that if the attachment is opened iSpy key logger is downloaded. This gives fraudsters the power to record every keystroke from a victim’s device and steal sensitive information.
